Inaugural Legends Gala Honoring Civil Rights Greats
Join us as we posthumously honor Dr. Harry Blake, Dr. E. Edward Jones, Dr. C.C. McLain, and Rev. H. Calvin Austin at the inaugural Legends Gala!
The Legends Gala will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Shreveport Convention Center, where we will gather to pay tribute to extraordinary individuals whose lives were dedicated to advancing civil rights and human dignity.
As we prepare to establish the first Civil Rights Museum in North Louisiana, we recognize that the foundation of this sacred space is built upon the selfless acts, unwavering faith, and determined leadership of this year’s inaugural honorees including Rev. Dr. Harry Blake, Rev. Dr. E. Edward Jones, Rev. Dr. C.C. McLain, and Rev. H. Calvin Austin. Their sacrifices, courage, and steadfast pursuit of equality have paved the way for future generations, and we are committed to ensuring their contributions are never forgotten.
This semi-formal event promises to be a night filled with dinner, memories, music, and heartfelt tributes to beloved civil rights legends! Tickets will go on sale Tues. September 30. This benefit supports the continued restoration of Old Galilee Baptist Church—future home of the North Louisiana Civil Rights Museum, where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. first spoke in Shreveport, LA!
